PhotoTager Batch Processing Guide
Batch processing is one of PhotoTager's most powerful features, allowing you to efficiently process large collections of media. This guide will walk you through the batch workflow.
What is Batch Processing?
Batch processing in PhotoTager allows you to:
- Upload and organize large numbers of files at once
- Maintain folder structures from your computer
- Process multiple projects simultaneously
- Generate metadata for hundreds of files in one operation
- Export everything to your preferred platforms
When to Use Batch Processing
Use batch processing when:
- You have more than 20 images/videos to process
- Your files are organized in folders
- You want to maintain your folder organization in PhotoTager
- You need to process everything with the same settings
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Create a New Batch
- Navigate to the "Batches" tab in the main menu
- Click "Create New Batch"
- Enter a name and description for your batch
- Click "Create"
2. Upload Your Files
- On the batch page, click "Upload Files"
- Select folders or files from your computer
- PhotoTager will preserve your folder structure
- Each folder will become a separate project within the batch
- Wait for uploads to complete
- You can monitor progress in the batch dashboard
- Once uploads are complete, you can:
- Click on individual projects to customize settings
- Assign different templates to specific projects
- Set platform preferences for each project
4. Process the Batch
- From the batch dashboard, click "Process Batch"
- Confirm credit usage (you'll see how many credits will be consumed)
- Wait for processing to complete
- Large batches may take several minutes
- You can navigate away and return later
5. Review Results
- Return to the batch page to see processing results
- Click on any project to review and edit its metadata
- Make any necessary adjustments to titles, descriptions, or keywords
6. Export Everything
- From the batch page, click "Download Results"
- You'll receive a ZIP file containing:
- Organized CSV files for each platform
- Separated by project (matching your original folder structure)
- Use these files to bulk upload to stock photography platforms
Tips for Efficient Batch Processing
- Organize First: Structure your folders logically before uploading
- Consistent Naming: Use consistent file names for better results
- Monitor Credits: Check that you have sufficient credits before processing large batches
- Schedule Large Jobs: Process very large batches during off-peak hours
- Review Sample Results: Check a few items from each project to ensure quality
Troubleshooting
- Upload Freezes: For very large collections, try uploading in smaller groups
- Processing Delays: During peak times, processing may take longer than usual
- Missing Folders: Ensure your folder structure is no more than 3 levels deep
- Format Issues: Check that all files are in supported formats
